Action Mechanism

  • Generic Benicar (Olmesartan) is a Angiotensin Receptor Blocker (ARB), which means it blocks the renin-angiotensin system.
  • By suppressing the renin-angiotensin system, it acts as a vasodilator i.e. dilatation of arteries or blood vessels.
  • Olmesartan blocks the vasoconstriction effects of angiotensin II by selectively blocking renin-angiotensin system in the smooth muscle of blood vessels.

Dosage

Precautions

Warnings
