Action Mechanism

Arkamin H is a combination of clonidine 100 mcg and hydrochlorothiazide 20 mg, the drugs that have been found clinically effective at lowering blood pressure. Clonidine belongs to the drug called alpha-2 agonists. It works by dilating and relaxing blood vessels, allowing the heart to function properly when it comes to pumping blood across the body. Hydrochlorothiazide is a water pill, a diuretic that lowers blood pressure by getting rid of extra water and sodium from the body. Hydrochlorothiazide relaxes arteries and improves blood circulation.

Dosage

Take Arkamin H exactly as advised by your PCP. Do not increase or decrease the dosage that is prescribed to you by your doctor.
Swallow a whole pill without chewing, crushing, or breaking it. Arkamin H can be taken with or without meal or milk, but make sure you take it at the same time each day as advised.
Continue taking this antihypertensive drug as recommended even after your blood pressure reading are within the normal range
Monitor your blood pressure regularly while undergoing treatment with Arkamin H and inform your doctor so he can maneuver the dosage keeping your readings in mind.

Precautions
