1 :  Generic Zanaflex works by relaxing the muscles which are strained by excessive strain. It blocks the signals of pain sensation send to the brain by the nerves in the area where the muscles are contracted or stressed.

2 :  This medicine contains Tizanidine that is a centrally acting alpha-2 adrenergic agonist. In case of spinal injury, generic Zanaflex blocks the signals send by the spinal cord to the brain.

3 :  Its main constituent Tizanidine shows the main effects on the polysynaptic pathway. Thus, the overall effect of this medication is observed to reduce facilitation of spinal motor neurons that transfer the signal from the spinal cord to the brain.
4 :  You may experience the effect of generic Zanaflex in about 30 minutes and the effect will stay on for 3 to 5 hours after taking the medication.
•   The prescribed dosage of generic Zanaflex is 4 mg twice in a day
•   The dosage can be increased up to 8 mg thrice in a day depending upon the individual requirements and response to the preliminary dosage.

•   Generic Zanaflex should be oral taken with the full glass of water.
•   The dosage of this medication can be decreased up to 2 mg thrice in a day by the physician depending on the side effects observed by the initial dosage.

•   This medication can be taken before or after the lunch depending upon the doctor’s prescription.

•   This pill is available in the market in the form of 2 mg and 4 mg of tablets.

•   It should not be taken more than thrice in a day.

•   Dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting may occur when you get up suddenly from a lying or sitting position. Getting up slowly may help lessen this problem.
•   Generic Zanaflex may be harmful to an unborn baby. FDA has put this medication in the category of pregnancy C drug. Please avoid taking this drug during pregnancy. Inform doctor if you become pregnant or plan to get pregnant during the dosage of this medication
•   Breast-feeding women should consult doctor if they want to take generic Zanaflex as it is not yet known whether this medication passes through the milk to the baby.
•   People suffering form blood pressure problems should consult doctor because Tizanidine can lead to the sudden decrease in blood pressure.
