Action Mechanism
The pharmacological action of Modalert (Modafinil) in promoting wakefulness is unknown. However, studies have reported that it acts similar to certain drugs that work on inhibiting the reuptake of dopamine. Modalert also works on certain neurotransmitters by boosting their secretion, such as orexin, serotonin, GABA, norepinephrine, among others. By boosting these brain chemicals, Modalert helps in boosting memory, wakefulness, alertness, attention, focus, concentration, and learning.
