Action Mechanism

Generic Kenalog contains Triamcinolone, a synthetic glucocorticoid with the immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory activity. The drug binds to certain cytosolic glucocorticoid receptors and interacts with glucocorticoid receptor to alter gene expression. This results in reduction of certain anti-inflammatory proteins, inhibiting the synthesis of inflammatory mediators and offering relief from allergic response. At the same time, an overall reduction in inflammation and autoimmune reactions is accomplished.

Dosage

Generic Kenalog may be given by injecting into different areas of the body, such as a muscle (intramuscularly), skin (intradermally), or joints (intra-articularly).
