Antifungal medications, also called antimycotic medications, are a pharmaceutical fungistatic or fungicide predicted to treat and prevent fungal infections - such as ringworm, athletes foot, candidiasis (thrush), and others. Antifungal pills are usually obtained by a prescription, but a few are available over-the-counter (OTC). Please note that antifungal tablets are only for infections that are strongly suspected to be caused by fungus and not bacteria or virus.
