Remedies to Check Heart Burn

When the stomach acids reach oesophagus, we call it heart burn. It feels like something is burning inside and causes back pain. Due to the improper intake of food and unhealthy diet causes acid influx. They are very unpleasant and needs something to get a relief from it. Well there are some natural remedies other than antacids. But if you experience heart burn everyday then it is better advised to go for a check-up.   1. Natural home remedies   Nothing is more hygienic than using some remedies that are natural and already available at home. They are always available and can be used without thinking too much about the side effects.   Almonds   Almonds work wonder in neutralising the excessive acid in your stomach as it contains high percentage of oil. So grab few almonds and chew them properly. Feel your stomach relieved within 1 hour.   Aloe Vera juice   As far as the history goes, Aloe Vera juice was considered to be the best remedy for heart burn. They cool down the stomach and prevent inflammation of stomach walls. Use the ones that are used for intake only.   Apple   “An apple a day keeps the doctor away” well it is very true that apple is one of the earliest best medicines to cure various diseases. Eat an apple whenever you feel heart burn and within 5 minutes your stomach will be at rest as it neutralises the acid and prevent heartburn.   Baking Soda   Mix half or one tea spoon of baking soda in a glass of water and you will experience that your acidity has decreased. Don’t use it if occurs every day.   Chewing gum   Chewing gum increases the saliva rate and thus helps in neutralising the level of acidity in your stomach. Use a sugar free chewing gum.   Turmeric   It is a natural antiseptic and thus helps in digestion. Use them in your meal. In case you don’t use turmeric in your meals take them raw before your meal.   Potato juice   Make juice out of a single potato and mix it with cold water. Drink the mixture and you will feel relieved. It clears the oesophagus and keeps in check the level of acid.   Water   Sometimes due to lack of water intake we experience acid influx. So don’t forget to drink at least 2 to 3 litres of water in a day.   2. Few directives to reduce heart burn
  • Try to avoid taking too many antacids as they destroy the mechanism of your stomach
  • Don’t eat the foods that cause acid influx
  • Sleep properly every day. It rests your body and mind. Too much tension can cause acidity
  • Excess fat in your belly forms acid in your oesophagus. So exercise to shed extra fat
  • Keep you’re a bit higher than your body
  • Try to complete your 2 to 3 hours before you go to bed
  • Eat slowly in small bites. It helps in the digestion
  • Avoid using tight clothes. It puts pressure on your stomach and disrupts digestion
