It’s taken the form of a health hazard and needs to be curbed soon.   Whenever the problem of weight loss crops up women usually resort to unhealthy means of getting back into shape, forgetting the very reason the need to loose weight- to be healthy. From unhealthy weight loss drinks, to imitating their best friend’s weight loss secrets, they try all the bizarre things to shed the excess weight.  Though, sometimes it does help to lose weight, the resultant benefits are only external. The increase in aesthetics may invite new complications where the body may suddenly be deprived of basic nutrients to keep it healthy.   Keeping this is mind it is important that the main aim of losing weight should be to be “healthy”. A healthy body is naturally gifted with glowing skin and beautiful hair. To loose weight and be healthy, follow the given tips.  
  1. Water– One of the easiest and most inexpensive way to detoxify the body. Drink more than 6 liters of water everyday. This can also be combined with fluid intake in other forms such as juice, soup and broth. Detoxifying the body naturally increase the BMR due to which the body tends to burn the stored fats at a faster speed.
  2. Raw fruits- Have at least two portions of raw food, between the meals. This is the best done on an empty stomach as the ingredients are best absorbed in an empty intestine. Avoid having packaged fruit juices as they are low in nutrient content despite the advertisings. Make them at home, but it’s the best to have the whole fruit to get the best out of them.
  3. Decrease the intake of unhealthy fats- The same mantra has been repeated time and again. But just decreasing the amount of fried food, unhealthy cheese and butter can do wonders to your health. To stick to healthy fat intake, include flax seeds, peanuts, almonds and walnuts in your diet. It’s important to take these in a controlled manner and not over do it.
  4. Keep the diet balanced- Almost everyone who is watching their weight is advised to have a balanced diet. The best way to do this is to know the calorie count of your meal and their nutritional value.
  5. Exercise- Stop working out just to loose the flab. Work out because you want to be healthy. Choose a workout that you enjoy and it could be anything… your favorite sport, dancing on your favorite song or taking a walk in your favorite park.
