Action Mechanism

Telma H belongs to the category of ARB drugs, which stands for angiotensin receptor blockers. Angiotensin 1 receptors work for contraction and relaxation of smooth muscle that is present in the arteries. This potent drug, Telma H, binds to the angiotensin-1 receptors causing the arteries in the heart to relax, and therefore, reducing blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic drug that helps to eliminate excess water and making your muscles and arteries more relaxed. It allows the unrestricted flow of blood, which works to make your heart pump the blood productively. It efficiently works to bring down the blood pressure level to the normal range.

Dosage

One should take Telma H antihypertensive medicine under medical supervision as it is a prescription-based medicine. Stick to the prescribed dosage or read the instruction manual carefully, and do not stop taking this drug without informing your doctor
The dosage of Telma H depends upon the health and response of the patient to this medicine.
One can take Telma H pills with or without food.
Initially, a total dosage of 80mg/12.5 mg dose daily of Telma H is prescribed to a patient who has unusual high blood pressure and. Later after two to four weeks, the dosage can be increased to 160mg/25mg daily if needed.
Most of the antihypertensive effect of Telma H drug is evident within two weeks, and the maximal reduction of blood pressure is observed after four weeks.
Take Telma H drug regularly to get results. For better results, take this drug at the same time every day. If the condition does not improve, inform your doctor.

Precautions

Before taking Telma H medicine, remember to inform your doctor if you are allergic to its active or inactive ingredients. If you are allergic to other anti-hypertensive drugs, tell your doctor.
Inform your doctor about your medical history, such as if you have any long-term disorder or have undergone any surgery.
Telma H is not advised during pregnancy
It is not clear whether Telma H medicine passes through breast milk; therefore, breastfeeding women should not take Telma H drug.

Avoid the consumption of alcoholic beverages or illicit drug use if you are taking Telma H pills. Consumption of alcohol while taking Telma H can lead to a sudden drop in blood pressure, which can be dangerous for your health.
Avoid overdose of Telma H as it can be fatal. In such a case, call 911 or seek prompt medical help.
