Description

Generic Noroxin is a medications used for the treatment of certain bacterial infections. The active drug composition of this medicine is Norfloxacin that belongs to the family of Fluoroquinolone antibiotics. It is quite beneficial in the treatment of urinary tract infection (UTI), prostate inflammation, gynecological infections, gonorrhea, and bladder infections.

Action Mechanism

Norfloxacin, the active drug of Generic Noroxin, is a broad-spectrum antibiotic. It is effective in treating infections caused by gram-positive as well as gram-negative bacteria. It functions by stopping the growth and proliferation of bacteria. It is a bacteriostatic drug, which means it inhibits the bacterial growth and multiplication.

Dosage

  • Take Generic Noroxin orally as instructed by your doctor, which is usually twice a day, with a full glass of water. Avoid eating food or any dairy products within two hours of dosage.
  • Make sure you drink plenty of fluids while undergoing treatment with this antibiotic. The dosage and the duration of treatment are usually based on the type of bacterial infection you have.
  • Avoid taking large amounts of caffeine, such as energy drinks or coffee, since Generic Noroxin may increase the effects of caffeine.
  • For better effects, take this antibacterial drug at evenly spaced times. Make sure you take this antibiotic at the same time every day for the number of days prescribed
