Description

This ophthalmic medicine is used to treat eye infections by stopping bacterial growth. Ciloxan Eye Drops merely treats bacterial infections in the eye. This antibiotic kills the bacteria that are causing an eye infection. It does not treat other types of eye infections. Use of the medicine to treat a viral or fungal infection in the eye is not recommended.

Ciloxan Eye Drops contain Ciprofloxacin hydrochloride which is a "fluoroquinolone" antibiotic. Overuse or unnecessary use of this antibiotic can reduce efficacy. Discontinuing its use too early may allow bacteria to grow due to which the relapse of the infection may take place. Ciloxan Eye Drops are also used to treat corneal ulcer as well as conjunctivitis.

Ciloxan Eye Drops are used to treat eye infections. It works by stopping the bacterial growth in the infected eye. This ophthalmic solution treats bacterial infections in the eye only. This antibiotic kills the infection-causing bacteria. It is not effective in treating other types of eye infections. Ciloxan is not recommended to treat fungal or viral infection in the eye. These eye drops contain Ciprofloxacin hydrochloride which is a "fluoroquinolone" antibiotic. Overuse of this antibiotic or unnecessary use can reduce the efficacy of its fighting capability. Do not discontinue its use too early as it may result in bacterial growth. Ciloxan Eye Drops can also treat corneal ulcer and conjunctivitis.

Dosage

Your doctor will prescribe you suitable dosage of Ciloxan Eye Drops based on your health condition and medicinal response.
You must use this ophthalmic solution regularly to notice an improvement.
When you use these Eye Drops for a longer period, it may not be as effective as you would expect. If the medication has stopped working for you then consider talking to the doctor.
If you miss a dose, use it when you remember. If it is close to the next dose, then do not take the missed dose. Use the next dose of Ciloxan at the regular time. Do not increase the dose to catch up.
If you are using other ophthalmic medications for other illness then use them at least 5 minutes apart.

I used Ciloxan eye drops for my pink eye. A couple of hours after instilling these eye drops, the swelling and inflammation went down. I think Ciloxan eyes drops works best for conjunctivitis and other eye inflammatory conditions.
