What is dry brushing-?

It is one of the most important and effective ways to detoxify the body by stimulating various organs of the body.

 

The organs that are involved with the excretory functions of the body are:

  • Lymphatic system
  • Mucous membranes

In all this, the skin is the most important organ that is responsible for detoxification of 25 % of the body’s detoxification each day. Most of the detoxification takes place through sweat glands. Due to its excretory functions, the skin is also known as the third kidney of the body.

 

Dry brushing is a form of auxiliary mode of treatment. Some of the benefits of dry brushing are:

 

  1. Removes stubborn cellulite- It is hard to get rid of cellulites by working out. However, studies have shown that regular dry brushing helps to reduce the cellulites, especially the ones on the arms and the legs.
  2. Cleanses the lymphatic system- lymph is involved with carrying toxins that accumulate in the system and throws them out. Dry brushing is said to increase the efficiency of lymph nodes.
  3. Makes the skin glow- Dry brushing increasing the flow of blood to the skin, due to this the skin glows. Also, dry brushing helps in removal of dead skins which helps the skin rejuvenate.
  4. Good for immunity- Since the blood circulation increases, toxicity decreases, it helps in improving the immunity of the person. Due to this, their ability to fight off diseases increases.
  5. Good for hormones- Studies show that dry brushing can stimulate glands that secrete hormones and oil. This helps to avoid skin problems such as acne, pimples, blocked pores and black and white heads.
  6. Nervous system- Circular motion of the brush is said to stimulate the nerve endings and this help the nervous system to function better.
