Obesity has become like an epidemic in America. According to statistics, the average weight loss among dieters who are on conventional diets is just about 5-8 pounds per year. This brings forth a question why dieting is so difficult? A survey highlights that there are three reasons for the failure of dieters’ weight loss program.

  1. Lack of powerful incentive in case of success – 75% of people believed this to be the reason.
  2. Dieters let themselves go hungry – 70% of people believed this to be the reason.
  3. Bad days take a toll on the weight loss program– 69% of respondents believed this to be the reason.

Action plan for success

  • Set incentive

A strong incentive can only help you to stick to your weight loss program. For instance, if you set an incentive to get in shape within six months so as to go on a Caribbean cruise and dance on the beach in the swimwear, then you may be motivated. A strong incentive is what everybody needs to achieve a difficult task.

  • Don’t go hungry

It is a wrong belief among dieters that food is their enemy. Hence, they eat less and go hungry more often. It is important to eat food when hungry to fulfill the body’s need but make sure you eat low-cal food. Eat on time, never skip a meal.
