In the current time and age, Stress has become a part and parcel of our existence. If a man is professionally happy, his personal life could be the cause of stress or vice versa. In most cases, the level of stress can increase or decrease unless the person is suffering from chronic stress. Most of us attempt the same, ‘tried and tested’ routes to get rid of stress, ranging from yoga to music and dancing. But there are various other ways that can be used to conquer stress, though they differ from all the other conventional methods. A sneak peak at some of them:
Snake on your back

For a change, these snakes will not send ripples down your back caused by fright but help your body calm down. The slithering motion of snakes on the back can sooth nerves, heavy snakes can give more pressure massages and their movements are known to relax tight muscles. There are several therapists who have incorporated this new plan in their stress management therapies and most of them state that the response has been overwhelming. People who have been brave enough to try it state that the effect is almost instantaneous.
Jaw massage

Our mouth is the only outlet that we can use to voice our opinion. In such cases, when we are tensed, the body tends to contract the muscles around the jaw line as a result of which we feel less inclined to talk. But if this keeps happening over a period of time, it can lead to headaches. Getting the area around the jaw and forehead massaged, can help these muscles contract and release tension in the subsequent places. It is also known to help the person get rid of stress. One can also do self massage by using the 4 fingers of the hand (do not include the thumb) and massaging the forehead in circular motion, coming down to the jaw line. You can increase or decrease the pressure. Doing this for five minutes can help decrease stress. The best part about this is that you can do it while sitting in the office.
Bath in beer
We all tend to drink beer when we are highly stressed, just a small touch of alcohol can soothe our nerves very easily. But now try this- go and get soaked in beer. That is the latest and most intoxicating way of beating stress. There is a brewery in Europe that offer the facility of getting soaked in a tub full of beer. The hot temperature is known to calm nerves and the alcohol seeps into the pores, soothing the mind and the body. Try it, if you can afford it!
Ironing

Not the, most interesting job to be done, but ironing is known to be one of the most effective ways of beating stress. Though not a very popular household task, ironing helps people get rid of the excess baggage of haggard thoughts. As per meditation experts, ironing is believed to have the same effect on the body as meditation. This is because; ironing also does the same thing that meditation does, brings our wandering thoughts at one point, making us concentrate on one thing. In a manner similar to meditation, where we have to focus on our thoughts and breathing, ironing makes people concentrate on the task at hand, getting rid of wrinkles hence the effect is just as soothing as sitting and focusing on our breath.
Scream Away

This may seem as the most bizarre thing to be done but screaming is known to help us get rid of all the pent up emotions in the body. This is also a part of our inherent nature as the cave men were known to release their tension, take out their frustration by screaming. However, one can never find the right place to bellow away as most of us are not living in areas that have open fields but we can make use of what we do have. Stress therapist who advocate this form of screaming believe that people can scream into their pillow or do it in the confines of their car. Though a 30 minute screaming session is recommended, screaming for just 10 seconds into the bolsters can also be of great help.
