A study has estimated that the reasons for weight gain in today men are due to the inactive and luxurious lifestyle. Lack of physical activities, eating fatty or calorie full food stuffs are the two factors that has lead to weight gain in men these days. Lack of Sleep

The lesser the men sleep the more they are prone to obesity. A study has revealed that men who sleep just 5 hours a day tend to become much obese than the ones who sleep for 7-8 hours in night. Fewer sleeping hours draws men towards carbohydrate and calorie full food items. So, this leads to weight gain, obesity over time.

 

Stress

Work load, responsibilities towards home and ever body around demands a lot of energy.But too much of intense wear and tear of the body and mind function leads to going into the survival mode. During all this process cortisol, stress hormone gets released which causes increase in appetite and subsequently weight gain.

 

Intake of Antidepressants

The inability to bear with the work load and the pressure an individual finds solace in swallowing ant-depressants. One such unfortunate side-effect of anti-depressants is the problem of weight gain.

 

Smoking Cessation

It is a known fact that smoking kills the craving or the urge to eat. On average, what is unknown is the fact that quitting smoking leads to a gain of at least 4 to 10 pounds. This happens due to nicotine. While an individual smokes the nicotine in the cigarette curbs the appetite, but once smoking is stopped increases the metabolism which leaves an individual hungry and makes him overeat thus leading to obesity.
