You have been slogging it out in your gym everyday for the last 3 months and yet your muscles are not getting toned, then it is time to introspect. For vegetarians the best protein rich food is soybean. It also gives you the necessary vitamins, minerals and fiber. All the varieties of beans contain the above mentioned ingredients but soybean is the best amongst them.
Green leafy vegetables contain lots of proteins in them and are healthier than animal proteins. The best source has to be lentils.
For non vegetarians chicken is the best alternative as not only does it have a high concentration of proteins, the level of fats in it is minimal. There are many more sources of proteins; however the above mentioned ones are typical sources.
Just keep a tab on your diet and continue the work out regime to get the elusive muscle tone.
