Most of us think that men always want to make love. But there are times men refuse some really exciting offers. This leaves women thinking and some also worry that they have become ugly or are not attractive enough. But there are reasons why men avoid making love. These are:

• Medicines- certain drugs can decrease a man’s sex drive with the most common ones being antidepressants and antihypertensive drugs. Some of them can affect release of testosterone in the body and it can affect libido.

• Lack of sleep- decreased sleep can also affect the sex drive of a man. During teenage years and when men are in their teens or their twenties, the need to have an intercourse can overwhelm their need to sleep but with age, men prefer to sleep over having an intercourse. After some time, a good night’s rest can be more tempting.

• Hormonal levels- In some cases, there can be physiological decrease in the level of testosterones, in most cases it can be a sign of andropause. Decreased level of low testosterones can be diagnosed through blood test and corrected through hormonal therapy.

• Identity issues- in some cases, men may go through personal crisis that may make them question their very existence in this world. During this phase, there is a decline in the level of sexual activity.

• Monotony and boredom- some men may get extremely bored of doing the same thing again and again due to which, their interest level may go down. This can lead to monotony and boredom and hence stay away from physical intimacies.

• Emotional disagreements- if the couple continues to disagree with each other, they may lose interest in physical intimacy. If the disagreements are bitter enough to border dislike, and then they may not feel inclined towards any physical contacts, all of it boiling down to decreased sexual activity.
