Smoking can prove to be fatal in the long run as it can lead to various forms of cancer. But before it kills you, it ensures that you can never smile properly due to yellow stained teeth. This staining can occur due to presence of nicotine in the tobacco smoke. No matter how healthy your teeth are, getting them stained due to smoking or regular consumption of tea and coffee gives them an extremely ugly appearance. Ugly teeth cannot be ignored as a good smile boosts your confidence and clean teeth help to set a good impression. Here are some tips to get the teeth sparkling clean again:

  • If you are habituated to tea and coffee, decreasing the intake will stop the teeth from further staining.
  • Get more regular with your dental flossing and brushing of teeth. They help to ensure that the teeth are in a healthy state.
  • Get bleaching of your teeth done the moment you quit smoking. This will help you gather confidence and motivate you to keep you away from your cigarettes.
  • Take half a spoon of baking soda, mix some salt and vinegar to it. Make a paste and apply it to your teeth. Leave the paste on for at least two minutes and then wash it off with some warm water. Some also recommend brushing your teeth with paste to add some sparkle to your teeth. One can also do this to get rid of brown stains on the teeth.
  • Squeeze out half a lime and add some salt to the juice. Dip your brush in this and scrub your teeth the way you normally do. The citric acid in the salt is a brilliant cleanser and helps to get rid of the stain.
  • Add some soda and hydrogen peroxide to make a paste. Apply this paste on your teeth and leave it on for 5 minutes. Wash with warm water.
