Milk is known for its nutritional benefits due to which, everyone is advised to drink it from the time they are infants. However, this white liquid is blessed with a host of other benefits for the skin. It has been a part of various cosmetic treatments indifferent civilizations where people can swear by its benefits. Some of its cosmetic relevancies are:
- Dip a ball of cotton in half a bowl of milk and pat it all over the face. Leave it on for 30 minutes and then wash your face with cold water. This can make the skin soft, smooth and moisturized. This process is especially beneficial in the winter, when the skin tends to become dry.
- Mix 2 table spoons of milk in a teaspoon of salt till the salt get partly dissolved. Apply the mixture on the face, just before bed time. For best results, massage it on the face for ten minutes and wash with water. It makes the skin soft and smooth. It is also believed to help the skin repair and regenerate, thus delaying the presence of wrinkles.
- In case of people who have a dry complexion, milk powder can help to lighten it up in a big way. Take 2 tablespoons of milk powder and mix it with hydrogen peroxide, till it becomes a thick paste. Add a few drops of ammonia to it and leave it on for 15 minutes. Wash with cold water and dab the face with some rose water. It can help to decrease the accumulation of melanin on the face.
- Mix a table spoon of milk with carrot juice, orange juice and honey and massage it gently on the face. Leave the application on for 15 minutes and wash it off. This adds glow to the skin, improves complexion and gets rid of pigment marks.
