Antibiotics are bacterial infection killers that work towards removing or killing of the infection present in the human body. Antibiotics are said to give rise to further infections and bacterial diseases in one’s body.

Where did anti-biotic derive its name from?

The word antibiotic comes from the Greek word ‘anti which means- against’ and ‘bios which means- life’. Antibiotics or those set of medications or treatment form that kill the bacterium causing diseases in one’s body. Bacteria cannot be seen with the naked eye, but the bacterial killing agent proves its power, by killing all the viruses and fungi’s that are responsible for causing tuberculosis, salmonella, syphilis and meningitis which happen only due to the presence of bacteria in the body.

Antibiotic is not meant for treating viral infections or fungal infections such as sore throat, cold and bronchitis. Antibiotics cannot be taken for treating on general diseases.  In fact, it may give rise to some other infections and diseases such as blood clotting, kidney stones, and deafening in ears, diarrhea, fever and fungal infections. Antibiotics are sure to kill the bacteria in the body, but may lead to some allergic reactions such as swelling of lips and the tongue, itching, difficulty in breathing and rashes and many more. In extreme cases, overdose of medications may lead to dizziness or fainting.
