Kegel is considered as an effective exercise that increases the sexual abilities of men. It is also referred to as pelvic floor exercise. The exercise involves rhythmical rapid contraction of pubococcygeus muscles or PC muscles, which are situated in between pelvic bones. It is believed that men experience weak control over the bladder due to impuissance of these muscles. It is essential to discriminate your pelvic muscles or of pubococcygeus muscles from other muscles in lower back, stomach and upper legs, in order to do Kegel.

 

Kegel exercise does not only help a victim to improve his sexual abilities but it is studied that it also aids in improving the incontinence issue in men. Urinary incontinence is a condition wherein unintentional urinating is observed; it is usually in slighter proportion. In case of men, possible factors that cause urinary incontinence may include damaged nerves, prostate gland engorgement and surgical treatment for prostate cancer. While urinating, without involving your hands, try to contract the muscles that enable you to stop the flow of urine.  The point where you felt the contraction, while successfully pausing urination, are the muscles that can help you perform the exercise.

 

There are debates on effect of Kegel exercise on premature ejaculation or quality of climax. But it is a widely accepted fact the Kegel exercise does strengthens your pelvic floor. A stronger and healthier pelvic floor may also in turn help you enhance your sexual abilities and pleasure obtained during intimate physical intercourse. This may also indirectly augment the confidence on both the indulged partners. It is also stated that Kegel exercise also improves the pelvic vascularity which may cause enhancement to the blood circulation. Since, the exercise makes the of pubococcygeus muscles firmer, there are high chances of stronger and more sensual climax.

 

How to perform Kegel?

To practice Kegel exercise you need to contract your pelvic muscles and hold it for few seconds (or count till five) and then return to relaxed state. Take a break of few seconds and again repeat the action. While performing this exercise keep you respiration normal, do not push down neither hold your breath while you are practicing Kegel. Ensure that only you pelvic muscles are contracted; avert contracting surrounding muscles such as buttock muscles, thigh muscles or abdominal muscles. Initially, start doing Kegel exercise in set of 10 and then gradually increase the number of set of Kegels you do at a time. Ensure that the quality of your practice is good; do not bother about the quality or sets that you perform in a day.

 

Where and when to perform Kegel exercise?

Kegel exercise can be performed at anywhere anytime as you do not need any special environment, equipments or pose to perform this exercise. This exercise can also be performed at any public place private premises. But ensure that you perform Kegel regularly in order to see significant results. This exercise helps men to gain control over the pelvic area which in turn can help them improve ther performance during coitus.
