Grapes have been the sign of luxury and prosperity. From the time of the messiah and the pariah’s, grapes have one of the most exotic fruits that only rich people indulged in. The seedless grapes have been more popular due to the ease with which they can be eaten. In fact, grapes are called the ‘lazy man’s fruit’ due to the ease with which they can be eaten. In grapes, all that a man has to do is wash and then they are ready to be eaten. Grapes are high in nutrition value and contain vitamin A, B, C, phosphorous, calcium, fat, carbohydrates and protein. This shiny pearly fruit is also blessed with some powerful health benefits that include:

 

  • Respiratory disorders- Grapes are considered to be good for respiratory disorders especially asthma. This is because they have high assimilatory power, which increases the moisture present in lungs.
  • Heart- Various studies that have been conducted on the effects of grapes on the heart state. As per these studies, grapes can slow down deterioration of heart functions and in some cases, can even avoid heart diseases all together.  This is because grapes can increase the level of nitric oxide in the blood due to which there are less blood clots which in turn decreases the chances of heart attacks.
  • Age- Grapes are also considered as the fruit that can keep a person young for life. This is due to antioxidants that can prevent oxidation of LDL cholesterol, that block the blood vessels.
  • Cancer- Grapes are also considered to be anti-cancerous and consuming them on a daily basis is believed to decrease the chances of this disease.
  • Anti-microbial- Grapes are believed to be anti-microbial and has antibacterial functions. It is also believed to have a high concentration of tannin which has anti-viral actions.
