It’s great news which states that the cancer death has been dropped by 1.8 % for men and 1.6 % for women from 2004 to 2008. America is finally coming to terms with its war on cancer, and in a better way. The advanced technology of cancer screening and treatments have actually prevented a million people from dying as per to the reports published in the 90’s.

 

The researchers have also found out that there are about seven less known cancer that have raised their ugly head in the past 10 years. The cancer group has come with an analysis saying that almost 1,638,900 people will be diagnosed by cancer and at least 577,190 will not be able to survive.

 

The great news is that the death rates have gone down and are still declining as per to the researchers, this is significant research as based on the data that has been collected over the past 10 years. It is reported that from 1999 to 2008 the death rates actually fell more than 1 % in both men and women, and this report is based on ethnic, racial groups that exist in America, excluding the American Indians and Alaskan Natives who hold a steady rate still.  The greatest drop has been noticed in African American men whose death rates fell by 2.4 % and Hispanic men whose death rates fell by 2.3 %.

 

The deaths rates that fell by 40 % for men suffering from cancers like lung cancer, colon cancer, prostate and breast cancer and for women they fell to about 34 % for women suffering from breast cancer, but despite the decline in these cancers there have been new cases of cancers like the pancreas, liver, thyroid, kidney, melanoma, esophageal and throat cancers.

 

The HPV infected throat cancer and malenoma was noticed only in white population while the esophageal rose in both whites and Hispanics. The researchers believe that obesity might be playing a major role to the increase these kind of cancers, but the exact reason is not yet known.
